Get Involved! Become a Whitefoord Community Program Volunteer!
As a Whitefoord Community Program (WCP) volunteer, you can help a child with his/her homework, teach a child
a new skill in the computer lab, rock a baby to sleep, help serve meals or snacks, lead children in a group
activity on the playground, help in the office or at a special event, design a program brochure, or encourage
adults who are seeking their GED. No matter how you get involved, your time and effort will help lead others
to a bright, well-grounded future.
A WCP volunteer is anyone who willingly donates time to help Whitefoord Community Program accomplish its
mission. Volunteers provide our children with opportunities for positive interaction with adults, examples of
service to the community and reassurance that members of the community care about their well-being. We
welcome volunteers to serve in the following roles:
Child Development Program (Infant to Pre-school age children)
Classroom Aide - Cut, color and glue! Get the full experience by assisting teachers with day-to-day classroom
activities or working with children in need of extra attention...
Office Aide - Use your organizational skills to assist with sorting, copying, filing and other tasks that
keep our programs running smoothly...
Talent Teacher - Do you have a talent or hobby you would like to share with others? Come talk to our children
about your favorite pastime and watch as you expand their world!
Family Learning and Community Development Program
After-School Program Assistant – Tutor a child in a difficult subject or engage in activities to encourage
his/her reading and comprehension skills…
Summer Reading Program Assistant – Want a summer to remember? Assist with our summer reading program – it
involves lots of fun activities, including field trips to exciting Atlanta places!
Bike Rite Assistant - Help teach kids the rules of the road while also sharing with them other important life
lessons. It is a perfect way to combine exercise with volunteerism!
Intel Computer Clubhouse Assistant - Our computer lab is packed with cutting edge technology—come teach our
older kids advanced computer techniques!
Building and Grounds
Gardener - Green thumbs wanted! Use your love for the outdoors to help us maintain our beautiful grounds and
memory garden...
Adults of all ages are welcome to serve in any of the above capacities. High school students, age 16 and up,
may also serve at Whitefoord Community Program in specific areas. We also have a variety of opportunities
that are suited for group volunteer projects. Whatever your interest, please give us a call at 404-523-2500.
