GED/Adult Literacy and Job Readiness Program

GED Program
Our program is specifically designed for adults who have different needs, backgrounds, and skills. Therefore a flexible program has been established to meets their unique needs and individual goals. The GED Preparation Program is offered to students who did not complete high school and score at a 9th grade level or above on both the vocabulary and reading comprehension sections of the diagnostic test.   Our instructors work closely with students to master skills and prepare for the examination. Core academic classes of instruction include: language arts, math, science, social studies, history, arts and humanities.


The following GED services are offered at no cost:

  • Assessment of skills
  • Personal attention
  • Use of textbooks and computers
  • Individualized instruction
  • A comprehensive educational plan for each student
  • Life skills instruction
  • Materials to utilize while studying at home

 

Adult Literacy Program
Students testing below the 9th grade level, receive individualized literacy instruction. Through on-going evaluation, vocational exploration, classroom and on-the–job training, placement assistance, and follow-up support services, our students are prepared for success.


Job Readiness Program
Qualified job seekers are connected with local employers after undergoing a comprehensive assessment through our Job Readiness Component.

The following job readiness and placement services are provided at no cost to jobseekers:

  • Find job leads
  • Assistance with resume writing
  • Practice interview skills
  • Job coaching
  • Access to telephone and computer
